Cordyceps militaris is a fungus specie from the genus Cordyceps. It was originally described as Clavaria militaris by Carl Linnaeus in 1753.
A mushroom with 1-8 cm of orange or red fruiting body, it contains bioactive compounds such as cordycepin, adenosine, GABA, ergothioneine, cerebrosides, cordycepic acid, carotenoids, ergosterol, vitamins A, E, B2, B3 & C and minerals such as magnesium, potassium, selenium, sulphur, iron, calcium, zinc, and more.
